there are various risks while taking images in a photography studio, some of which being:
1: ensure there are no loose cables to do this use tape to secure all the cables to prevent them from being a tripping hazard.
2: when using the lights, ensure that they are secured correctly before moving the stand and using them.
3:make sure the light unit covers are on securely before packing away into a secure place in order for them not to get damaged.
4: electrocution due to the misuse of plug sockets and electrical supplies may happen, therefore you should always make sure when plugging in the equipment ensure that they are off and are not being inserted in a faulty socket.
5: be aware of your surrounding as you may fall and trip over wires or any light stands.

frozen movement
to achieve these images i used a camera with the shatter speed on as the model walks past you then take a series of images and choose from the variety for these images my shatter speed was on 3 seconds meaning that i was able to record the movement for 3 seconds. the ISO was high allowing more light as well as my aperture being high.

Evaluation
My idea for the photo feature for
the magazine was a fashion shoot where the theme would be ‘bad and boujee’. My
concept was to mix urban/street styles with being classy and elegant for both
men and women however this was targeted more at women than men. The idea was to
view the images based on details such as the littles things that people
wouldn’t usually notice on clothing this could be things such as little
patterns or designs. My audience would be a young audience of both male and
female aged 15 to late 20s due to the fact that they would be more up to date
with fashion and having the latest trends and the outfits would appeal more to
them.
My idea for the theme I would
want from my images from a music video for a well-known song named ‘bad and
boujee’ this inspired me because in the video the models would wear classy and
elegant outfits but would act bad in a well-mannered way. I however got my idea
on how the pictures should look from a photographer/blogger called Dazhaneleah.
I liked her style and idea of how she knew how she wanted her pictures to turn
out, her images are taken in a certain way to show more of the style rather
than the models, her images/style is more urban with a classy mix.
The images I took are appropriate
for my chosen magazine are appropriate as they are similar to images from my
chosen magazine which is called ‘wonderland’, I chose this magazine as it
represents all types of fashion that the celebrities wear on the cover, the
magazine includes different cover models from Kim Kardashian to Teyana Taylor
to upcoming models such as Winnie Harlow. I feel that the theme I have chosen
goes with the magazine name as you are able to mix various styles to create one
look. The images appeal to my target audience because they would be able to
recognise the style/brands of the clothing used as they would be big and famous
brands such as ‘Nike, Adidas and Armani…’ as well the images being taken in a
certain way that a young audience would understand.
Even though my images were not
similar to the initial idea they were close, this was due to the fact that I
had taken my pictures in a different way as I did not plan where I wanted the
background to look like therefore the background/settings did not match the bad
and boujee theme as I took the images in college, the clothing on the images
were not what I had pictured when planning to take the images however they came
out similar. I think that it would be likely that the photo editor would use my
images because they are themed in a different way to how other images from the
magazine are presented and have a different feel to the other images in a
unique way because they aren’t as complex and have a unique look due to the
fact that the images are trying to show that being bad and boujee does not mean
you need to be rich or have a lot of money and buy from designer brands but
however you can actually wear high street brands and style them in your own
way, compared to other covers and images you see celebrities wearing fur and
expensive designer brands that most of the audience would know, whereas with my
images the audience can relate to knowing and buying from normal high street
brands. The images I took could compare to a professional photographers work as
they are taken in a unique style such as the person who gave me the idea of
taking images, however they are not as professional but you are able to see how
the images are formed and look organised in a way.
For my Prezi presentation which was
about fashion photography, I had to present to my class where I was able to get feedback from
my class mates, some of the feedback given was that I had nice images with a
good display making it visual as well as having the information and the
audience preferred having the images rather than a plain background because it
did not seem dull, the other comment was that my presentation was informative
and the information I had given was useful and not unnecessary, however I was
given some criticism, one of which was
what I should work on the next time was to engage with the audience more, this
could mean that I should have made it more enjoyable in the sense that I could
have added a quiz in at the end to test my audience to see if they were paying
attention, although this could also mean that I could have faced my audience in
order for them to pay attention to me more than they were because I facing the
board and reading off it with my back to the audience. For my series of images
for the magazines I was given feedback, some of which were good were that the
images taken did represent brands and you could see the different clothing
brands within the images where it was not just about the models but more about
how they were dressed where some of them were included within the bad and
boujee theme. Another positive comment I got was that I found different backgrounds
for the series of images as most of the other images taken by other had a plain
background where as my images combined with the style of clothing (street/urban).
A criticism given was that I could have used more light within the images as
the images were not as clear as well as the fact that I did not edit my images
to make them stand out more. If I had the opportunity to do this differently
next time, I would use a proper background with better lighting and have my
models do more complex and different poses instead of plain poses, I would also
edit my images to add more emphasize on the bad and boujee theme by adding
colour and some effects to tone the image.
